Fakhrul sustained injuries as his motorcade heading towards landslide-hit hilly districts came under attack in Ichhakhali of Rangunia in Chittagong on 18 June. A police officer was stabbed by a drug peddler during an anti-drug operation at Dorisonakanda area in Narayanganj port on Wednesday noon.The police officer Ilias Shah is a sub-inspector of Narayanganj port police station.Being tipped-off, a police team led by SI Shah, arrested a warranted drug peddler Rabiul Islam, son of Tukku Mia, who is influential in the community. Tukku tried to get his son released from the police and during a back-and-forth stabbed the sub-inspector on his chest, leaving him critically injured, said AKM Shahin Mondol, officer-in-charge of Narayanganj port police station.But the other police personnel accompanying them were able to arrest the father Tukku Mia and his son Rabiul Islam from the operation, the officer added.Later, the injured sub inspector rushed to local health complex and from where he transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as the condition deteriorated, said Dr Mahabub Alam, medical officer of port upazila health complex.
