The gods of Norse mythology will meet their demise by Kratos’ hand on April 20. Along with a solid release date, a new trailer was revealed. The trailer gives more detail about the game’s plot. Particularly, we’re shown why Kratos and his son Atreus set out on their perilous journey. Kratos is a god, which is something Atreus finally discovers during the course of the game. Being that this is God of War, the trailer has plenty of action. Kratos is seen taking on both man and monster with his new battle axe. It’s an epic trailer for what will no doubt be an epic story.“There has been a long journey just to reach this point, so it’s a little bittersweet to think that we are only a few months away from that journey finally coming to an end,” said God of War director Corey Barlog on the PlayStation Blog. “While I am sad, I am also excited because it means everyone will get their hands on this crazy adventure we have been crafting for nearly five years!”In addition to a release date and trailer, Sony also announced a number of pre-order bonuses. Pre-ordering at any retailer will net users three “legendary” shield skins.
