Middle Island Crash Leaves 2 Teens Dead

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured when their car crashed into a bus in Middle Island over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.Giovanni Rivette, 16, of Coram, was driving a Hyundai Accent northbound on County Road 21 when he blew a red light and crashed into a Thomas Built Bus for Rides Unlimited of Nassau and Suffolk that was heading eastbound on Whisky Road at 3:50 p.m. Friday, police said.Rivette and one of his passengers, 19-year-old Reynaldo Pena of Coram, were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A second passenger in the Accent, 17-year-old Tyrique Copeland of Coram, was treated for minor injuries.The driver of the bus and his 18 passengers were not injured.Seventh Squad detectives impounded the vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-852-8752.last_img read more
